At Lebronze alloys, we are committed to preserving resources, reducing our carbon footprint and offering alternative alloys.

Favoring recycled metals

Our responsible purchasing approach incorporates environmental criteria, one being the purchase of recycled metals, and notably copper, which can be recycled infinitely with no loss of performance.

Using scrap rather than new metals reduces the GHG emissions associated with the metal input by a factor of 100 (in the example of copper).

2021 marked a crucial stage in our recycled metal strategy. A specific upcycling workshop, financed by the France Stimulus plan, was inaugurated in our Suippes plant (France).

This upcycling workshop is a key investment as it:

enables our secondary foundry materials to be recycled internally and used as a source of raw materials.
increases our capacity to source recycled metals internally or externally.

Improving the environmental performance of our sites

Reducing energy consumption is a major focus of Lebronze alloys.

Our commitment has led us to take specific measures in terms of improvements and certifications.

Thanks to our Group’s sustainability plan, we managed to reduce our overall energy consumption by 35% between 2018 and 2022.

To continue improving, we chose to develop ISO certification throughout the group.

Out of our 6 productions sites, 3 are already certified ISO 14001 (environmental management) or ISO 50001 (energy management), and we aim to extend these certifications to all our production sites.

Offering substitutes alloys

Another key aspect of our sustainability strategy is to offer substitutes for alloys that are not Reach and RoHS compliant.

Considering the dangers posed by certain traditional alloys such as CuBe2 and CuBe2Pb, both to the environment and the health, we have developed a range of high-performance spinodal alloys to substitute these harmful materials.
Our spinodal alloys (Hardiall®, Niclafor® 1000, and Declafor) provide outstanding performance without compromising workers’ safety or the environment.

We also provide the EnviB® alloys range, which was designed to replace traditional leaded brass while retaining high machinability.
