SB-Railing System from SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH - Intelligently Designed – Efficiently Manufactured

At wire 2010 SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH AG presented the new SB-Railing System for the first time for the German market. The product portfolio based on a modular system with glued push-fit joints is ideal for custom and high-quality railing designs using stainless steel for indoor and outdoor use.

“The SB-Railing system was primarily developed for demanding large-scale construction projects such as office complexes and shopping malls. But our system is extremely flexible and with more than 1,200 articles has a virtually unlimited range of application from handrails in private homes to ship railings,” explains Alexander Mentisis, Marketing Manager at SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH.

Unlike conventional welded railing systems, the individual elements of the SB-Railing system are glued. In addition to the high costs of welding and polishing, this also saves time on assembly. Another advantage is the system’s variable adaptability to accommodate different heights and widths, for example, by using adaptors with flexible angles. “Combined with the Loctite adhesive we recommend, our glued push-fit joints meet the highest demands in regard to safety”, Mr. Mentisis explains. “In addition, design and quality are a major factor for us. All finely polished stainless steel elements are handmade so that they can be inserted and accurately fitted.”

SB-Railing was developed by a group subsidiary, SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH B.V. in the Netherlands. Over the past four years, it has been widely used in large-scale construction projects in several European countries. TÜV certification is expected by mid 2010.
