Železiarne Podbrezová – process line for continuous zinc-plating
Precision steel tubes destined for hydraulic and pneumatic pressure pipes form significant share of the overall volume of precision tubes produced. In commercial use these types of tubes are referred to as HPL tubes. Surface of these tubes must be protected against corrosion. According to Standards by which these tubes are delivered allows more means of surface protection against corrosion.
One of the possibilities to protect surface of base material is the electrolytic (galvanized) deposition of metal coatings that are preventing corrosion of this surface. Surface usually does not consist of one layer, but consists of multi layers and besides corrosion protection these coatings have additional significant function – they improve aesthetic look of the product.
Nowadays Železiarne Podbrezová a.s. are capable to meet the above mentioned requirements for passivation without using CrVI. For continuous zinc plating and tube passivation with outside diameter range (OD) 10 - 42 mm and wall thickness (WT) range between 1 to 4 mm, we have process line that is capable to process two tubes at the same time. We are zinc plating seamless tubes of E235+N and E355+N Standards and welded precision tubes greater then 19mm made according to E195+N, E 235+N, E275+N and E355+N Standards. Length of the incoming tubes ranges from 4 to 6 meters, zinc layer thickness ranges from 8 to 30 µm and the passivation type is thin layer passivation without the CrVI , thick layer passivation (without the CrVI). To tubes we can apply sealing with matters that are silicon based (Finseal) that stabilizes the chrome layer.
