Efficiency increase and cost reduction through networked data acquisition
At this year’s “Wire” AESA and M.E.A. present themselves for the first time as one company: AESA Cortaillod. For the customers in the cable industry the fusion of both enterprises means that they now have a single industry-experienced partner, offering integrated solutions for test data collection and quality management over the entire manufacturing process.
At Wire this year AESA presents for the first time after the fusion with M.E.A. in June 2007 the common product range, which now contains the measuring and testing systems together with the software solution CIQ 3.0 for data acquisition and evaluation.
Patrick De Bruyne, Managing Director of AESA, sees great advantages for his customers in merging both enterprises: "With the integration of measuring systems and quality management software we now offer a comprehensive solution from one source to the cable industry. Our customers can now overview the entire production online, accurately document quality and automate time consuming planning and administrative tasks."
At the fair, AESA shows the family of specialized measuring systems for the cable industry as well as the software solution CIQ 3.0 for comprehensive quality assurance. The main goal of CIQ 3.0 is to link together the "quality islands", which are usually isolated from each other in many plants in order to achieve a comprehensive test data collection and quality assurance.
CIQ 3.0 was developed in co-operation with cable manufacturers and fulfils the special requirements of the cable industry such as test data acquisition, traceability, inspection planning, evaluation and documentation. All AESA systems are already integrated in the new version of CIQ 3.0.
By being fully integrated into the production, CIQ 3.0 captures automatically the process data and inspection results, stores the data centrally and makes it accessible for anyone involved in the production process. This holistic data evaluation leads to cost-efficient production and better quality. In addition the system automates administrative procedures during inspection planning and evaluation.
