Wieland Werke AG

Wieland-Werke AG will participate in Wire 2008, Düsseldorf, and exhibit the following products:

ELECTRONIC WIRE
High-performance copper alloys combine the counteracting properties of high conductivity and high strength. Special heat treatments and the addition of special alloying elements enable copper to resist alternating load, to transfer high currents and to withstand long-term high temperature operation without being subjected to high stress relaxation. The materials K55, K65, K80 and K88 are used in connector pins, canted coil spring connectors, fatigue-resistant strands and high tension magnet wire.

HOT-DIP TINNED RECTANGULAR WIRE
A new product of Wieland is rectangular (flat) wire which is tin coated by hot-dip tinning. This tinning method improves resistance to whisker formation in electrical contacts. In addition, the tin coat is perfectly bonded to the copper wire due to the metallurgical compound between copper and tin.

WICONNEC® - FREE-CUTTING RODS
The new WICONNEC® brand stands for high-performance machining materials. WICONNEC® rods are often used in the connector industry, e.g. for thin, high-strength, high-conductivity connectors. WICONNEC® materials provide the optimum combination of three properties: machinability, strength and conductivity.
