RB Series for Reinforcing Steel

WAFIOS Straightening and cutting-off machines provide sophisticated technical solutions for the production of main and cross rebars as well as rod material. They are subject to a variety of requirements that require a high robustness of machines.

The WAFIOS straightening machines of the RB series combine reliable solutions with new developments, like e.g. the drive technology, and are equipped with an optimized feed and rotor technology. The use of high-quality materials, for e.g. encapsulated infeed and rotor modules, does not only reduce noise but also wear. The possibility to separately control the infeed and rotor speed guarantees maximum output.

These machines are always equipped with a rotary shear in order to ensure that all standards are met and to avoid damages to the wire surface. Currently, the machine series covers the diameter range from 4 - 16 mm for cold- and hot-rolled reinforcing steel.

The modular structure of straightening machines for smooth as well as reinforcing steel, ensures an economical production of parts and assemblies. An enhanced user interface, the motor-driven opening and closing of the protective hood, integrated storage places for tools and an improved encapsulation of the machine ensure optimum operating conditions.

Numerous packages for optional equipment available on request

The packages for optional equipment include different versions for triggering the cut (length tolerances +/- 2mm) and rotors, for the wire end control, for dust extraction as well as for the most different types of directly attached constructions. Stamping tools for marking rebars with individual fabricator markings are available as an option.

Tungsten carbide jaws with an increased wear-resistance are available as option for processing hot-rolled materials. Numerous versions of directly attached constructions are also available in order to increase the productivity, if necessary.

To minimize rib abrasion as well as to reduce the twisting of the rod, the straightening rotor can be optionally equipped with hyperbolic rollers. For processing compact and unevenly wound wire coils and spools, there are various versions of pay-off units available.

Modern control functions for maximum operating convenience

The operator is guided rapidly and safely on a language-neutral, color touchscreen through the different menu items and machine functions. The machine can be operated via the masks ROD EASY, Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Data storage. Error messages, service notes and the operating instructions are important and useful aids. Important machine data, like feed and rotor speed, contact pressure of feed rollers as well as material data can be saved.
