Real Time Tension Control – Implemented in your Ethernet Network.
FMS, the Swiss company for web control technology, expands their family of innovative electronics with a new fast bus system. The very popular EtherNet/IP™ bus has been integrated into all FMS 309 Series Tension Amplifiers and Tension Controllers. These Electronics work in conjunction with Force Measurement Sensors to achieve precise web tension measurement or web tension control. Ethernet Connectivity Enhances Your Machine Control The proven and popular EMGZ309 Digital Amplifier has been upgraded to include Ethernet connectivity and additional features such as tension overload alarming and a large selection of measuring units. CMGZ309 Tension Controllers are optimized to provide precise closedloop PID tension control. Controlling tasks are fully digitalized, resulting in excellent long term temperature stability. Parameters include selectable control of an unwind brake or drive, an intermediate drive, or a rewind drive. All units are available in Wall, DIN Rail, and Panel mount versions. Connectivity and networking capability of both electronics lines have been considerably boosted with the integration of the EtherNet/IP bus. This is based on the standard IEC61158 and is a family member of the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP™). EtherNet/IP was introduced in 2001 and today is the most developed and proven industrial Ethernet network solution available for manufacturing automation. The bus system offers data transfer with cycle times of ≥2ms while enabling true Internet and Enterprise connectivity. Many of the high performance FMS products that offer extended connectivity and flexibility will be on display at Stand 554. We look forward to seeing you. . Additional advantages of the electronics include straightforward device configuration and quick change-over of manufacturing processes … all fully accessible via your controller from a central location!
