Camfart Mole Abrasive S.r.l.

CAMFART News

Camfart will present in “Wire” exhibition the latest of a range of products for coil spring end grinding. The new bonds developed by Camfart are specifically designed to exploit the superior cutting action of sintered abrasives.

At “Wire” exhibition of 1994 an OMD grinder was mounting, for the first time in the world, a grinding wheel manufactured with seeded gel abrasive: it was a Camfart wheel.

These new products immediately proved such advantages in terms of productivity, quality of ground surfaces and wheel life to rapidly substitute grinding wheels made with conventional abrasives. Camfart quickly become leader in the Italian market of spring grinding wheels.

Strong of this experience and established relationship with grinding machine manufacturers, Camfart further developed its product range, mainly in the field of organic wheels, offering more and more performing products such as the B400 - B600 series.

The last development is the “E-bond” family, E3, E4 and now E5, which is based on a revolutionary sintering system to optimally bond seeded gel abrasives. E5 bond is sufficiently friable to allow self dressing of wheels and, in the meantime, very tough, so as to hold Cubitron™ grain longer than other bonds. The resulting reduced heating and damage of steel during grinding operation provides an answer to current market requirement for higher and higher quality of springs in terms of geometry and consistency of deformation under load.
Camfart tested E5 bond on a wide variety of hardened steel springs: the spark time decreases by 30% and the wheel life increases by 50%, dressing operations are minimized and stock removal remains at top.

Camfart since 1951 produces a wide variety of vitrified and organic wheels for the most important end uses, like precision grinding, centre-type and centreless, disc and surface grinding, foundry, spring end grinding and others.
In the production unit, located in Pian Camuno (BS) Italy Camfart manufactures a volume of 400 tons of grinding wheels per year with a total capacity exceeding 800 tons.

Our products meet safety standards established by oSa (Organization for the Safety of Abrasives) and our quality and environmental system are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
