Strip edge trimming lines belong to one of the core business areas, for which an increased demand worldwide was noted throughout the year 2011. In June 2011, the contract for a completely new edge trimming line was signed at a Chinese supplier for saw blades.

A precise trimming of the strip edges with the new edge trimming line is essential for the following continuous longitudinal welding of the strips. Welding is done in order to have two (2) different material conditions in one strip, one of which is used for the saw blade teeth while the other one is used for the so-called backing material. The new line will run at a speed of up to 250 m/min.
