The company

The SSC GmbH was founded by Ing. Helmut Petz in Kapfenberg, Mariazeller Straße 30 in 1991.

The original objective was to setup an engineering department and production of prototypes for the automotive industry.

In 1994 the product CAD/CAM System EUKLID was included in our product range, which is especially used in the forging technology, foundries and tool construction. Its main aim is the three-dimensional milling of complex free formed surfaces.

In 1994 the department of plant construction and engineering with job order production of components of machines was founded.

In the spring of 2001 a quality management system according to ISO 9000-2001 was introduced and shortly afterwards certification followed.

In 2002 the development of a method for the cutting of plastic foils was started. As a result of this development the engineering and the construction of a cutting line for plastic foils was carried out.

The SSC GmbH was now a provider of automation and shifted its complete business into metallurgical and steel industry as well as wire and tube industry.

In 2005 a new system was developed for voestalpine tubulars. This new plant lead to an immense quality improvement and to a secure production process in the production of seamless oilfield tubes. This so-called Centre Hole Press was the first step of SSC GmbH into metallurgical industry.

In 2006 another development for wire industry was carried out. A wire coil press and tying off machine was developed for the company voestalpine Austria Draht in Donawitz. This plant is the first automatic plant worldwide that presses wire coils and ties them with plastic bands.
